Of prep test standard or moving towards this grade

Piano Solo - 20th/ 21st Century

Any one Piece not classified as Romantic but written in a "Contemporary" classical style (e.g. Bartok, Schoenberg, Webern, Stravinsky)

Guest composer - Benjamin Britten

To mark the 50th anniversary of the death of Benjamin Britten (born November 1913). An english composer, conductor and pianist.

Piano Recital - Festival Trophy

At least Grade 6 standard must have been reached and you must also enter a solo class. Please note that you should not play a piece which you have already played another class

Non-competitive Piano or Keyboard solo

Own choice, one or two pieces

Piano Solo Sonata

Any one movement from a Sonata (grade 6 min)

Adults Only (18 and over)

Quick Study

Performers will each be given 5 minutes at a practice piano before performing our chose piece

Piano Solo - Jazz, Ragtime or Modern Popular / Film / TV Music

Any One piece

Piano Duet

One or Two Pieces of your own choice

Piano Solo - Classical

Any one piece or movement written between 1750 and 1830 ( e.g. Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven)

Keyboard

Bring your own keyboard and cable. A stand will be provided

Early Beginners Piano

Not yet playing hands together except for last chord

Piano Solo - Romantic

Any one Piece written in 19th or early 20th Century (e.g. Brahms, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Schuman, Debussy, Rachmaninoff)

Piano Set Piece Beginners

Allegretto from 24 Short and Easy Pieces Op. 1 by Alexander Reinagle

Piano Solo - Baroque

Any one movement or piece written between 1650 and 1760 (e.g. Bach, Handel, Scarlatti)

Guest composer - Maurice Ravel

To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Maurice Ravel (1875 - 1937) A pianist, composer and conductor and internationally regarded as France's greatest composer.
