Non-competitive Solo

Each entrant will receive a full adjudication, certificate and written feedback but no placing.

Aria - Festival Junior Aria Trophy

Any Piece classified as an Aria

Disney Song from a Film or Musical - with backing track

Backing Track must be provided on a phone / tablet or CD and must be instrumental only with no additional singing. A sound system will be provided. You will be expected to sing without a microphone

Foreign Song - Indian

Song of Indian Origin composed to an original text and sung in the original language

English Art Song

Art Song composed to an original English Text (e.g. Sullivan, Ireland, Vaughan Williams, Butterworth, Howells, Britten)

Acting through Song

Singers are to prepare a song from the Musical Theatre repertoire. The emphasis in this class is on the seamless integration of singing and acting skills demonstrated through a range of vocal quality choices and a truthful delivery of the song. To be sung from memory. Accompanists will need to be arranged by the performer if required. Microphones and Backing tracks not allowed.

Contemporary Pop performed to backing track

Backing Track must be provided on a phone / tablet or CD and must be instrumental only with no additional singing. A sound system will be provided. You will be expected to sing without a microphone. Your song must be appropriate for a mixed aged audience. This category is not suitable for rap or heavy metal style genres

Foreign Art Song

Art Song composed to an original European text and sung in the original Language. Any European Language, including Russian.
